The Mombasa tech community appreciates the Nailab and the ICT Authority for city’s inaugural hackathon
The Mombasa Tech community, a community initiative at the Coast focusing on inspiring, networking and developing upcoming techies wants to appreciate the Nailab for the recently concluded two day hackathon in Mombasa.
Attended by over 100 developers, the two day event was the first of its kind in the coastal city, attracting participants from across the region and stamping the community’s work to stir innovation in Mombasa.
According to Alifiyah Ganijee and Said Fuad, the Mombasa Tech Community founders, “These were two days full of learning, fun and moments of excitement. It was an open space to share, learn, connect with mentors and network.”
“We have so far engaged with and successfully hosted over 40 events as a community. We however want to appreciate the Nailab team for their unconditional support in ensuring that the community learnt and challenged their entrepreneurial skills.”
Ganijee said the hackathon was the first of its kind in the coastal city and is a great step in helping tech-prenuers and the youth in the region nurture their skills in establishing enterprises that will help re-solve local problems.
Held at the JKUAT Mombasa campus on the 20th and 21st of September, the Mombasa Hackathon was organized by the Mombasa Tech Community, Nailab, JKUAT Mombasa and the ICT Authority.
